Our School Our Church - Our Christian values.
Thankfulness is our Christian value this half term. The Worship committee have written these prayers to remind us to be thankful.
The whole school attended Harvest Festival at the church. The children sang hymns and discussed with Rev Julie all about sharing and helping those less fortunate than themselves.
Archdeacon Elizabeth Snowdon visited us in December lead worship. She kindly left five holding crosses for the children and staff to share. The Chelmsford Holding Cross has been created by the Chelmsford Diocese to help people live distinctively as Christians. The size of the cross means it can be kept in a pocket or bag, and held at any time. The cross serves to encourage prayer. The Bible words inscribed on it remind us about the heart of Christian living: to love the Lord your God, and to love your neighbour as yourself.
Woodham Walter school is a voluntarily controlled Church of England school which enjoys close links to the local C of E church, St Michael's.
Members of the church regularly take assemblies in school to share and increase the children's awareness of the Christian word.
Some special services, including Christingle, the leavers' service and particularly important school assemblies, are held for the children at St Michael's. Members of the church are regularly invited back to the school to see the pupils' achievements and be entertained by whole school productions.
There is a very special relationship in Woodham Walter between our school and our church which benefits both; to find out more about St Michael's do please visit: St. Michael's Church.
